Most clients experience mild warming or snapping sensations, not significant pain. We use cooling gel and adjustable settings to maximize comfort; topical numbing is available on request. Sessions are brief and tolerable for the majority of skin types.
Treatment plans vary by concern and skin type; most clients need three to six sessions spaced four weeks apart for optimal results. Your technician will assess your skin and recommend a personalized schedule during consultation to meet your goals.
IPL addresses pigmentation, sunspots, broken capillaries, rosacea-related redness, and some acne-related inflammation. It improves tone and texture but is less effective on deep wrinkles; a consultation will determine suitability and whether combined treatments are recommended.
Common side effects include short-lived redness, mild swelling, and temporary darkening or flaking of pigmented areas. These typically resolve within days to two weeks. We provide aftercare instructions and recommend strict sun protection to minimize complications and support healing.
IPL isn't suitable for pregnant clients, those on isotretinoin within six months, or with active skin infections or heavy recent tanning. Darker skin tones require cautious evaluation due to pigment risks. A medical history and patch test determine safe candidacy.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for two weeks, discontinue retinoids and exfoliants five days prior, arrive with clean skin, and avoid waxing or bleaching in the treatment area. We'll review your medications and skin history during consultation.
